Nationally, a major barrier for cancer patients to
receive or complete their cancer treatment is transportation. In Northwest
Arkansas, there can be the same barrier. Hope Cancer Resources provides free
transportation to ensure access to care for cancer patients in our region.
Because access is a major barrier to cancer care, our Patient Transportation
Program is a lifeline to treatment. For patients who do not have the resources
or are physically unable to drive themselves to treatment, Hope Cancer Resources is able to help.
“All of the drivers were very friendly and helpful. I
don’t know how I would have been able to get to my radiation treatments without
your service. Thank you so much and God bless you.” – A Grateful Patient
Survivors who can benefit from our patient
transportation program live within a 60-mile radius of Highlands Oncology Group
in Rogers or Fayetteville, and Landmark Cancer Center in Rogers who would
otherwise be unable to get to or from their cancer-related appointments. We are
committed to provide transportation for daily, weekly and monthly cancer
treatment as well as other medical appointments related to a patient’s
diagnosis. This service is provided free of charge to cancer patients in our
area when no other assistance is available to them.
“Hope has been so helpful. All the staff are
professional, caring and very helpful. They make my cancer journey easier.
Thank you!” – A Grateful Patient
On average, our drivers provide transportation to 62 patients, driving over 14,000 miles every month.
Our transportation team includes eight drivers who are
all dedicated to making patients’ rides to and from treatment as pleasant and
timely as possible.
“As a retired pastor, I wanted to find something I could
do to continue my ministry, and this fit the bill. I love meeting all the
patients – it seems like new ones every week, which is sad in a way, but I love
doing it. I love trying to relieve some of the stress on the families of cancer
patients.” – Wally, Hope Cancer Resources Driver
“What I enjoy most about driving is the chance to bring a
smile and good conversation to a patient that might be living alone, a
diversion to what they are experiencing. It is the most rewarding job I have
ever had!” – Anne, Hope Cancer Resources Driver
Our team is passionate about providing hope for cancer patients in our region.
