September News
Our new support group for Spanish-speaking
patients meets for the first time on Monday, September 18. Viviendo con Cancer
is a monthly group that will provide support and education for Hispanic patients
living with any type of cancer and their caregivers, family members and
friends.
Addressing the emotional aspect of a patient’s
cancer journey is equally as important as addressing the physical.
Unfortunately, this can be especially difficult for patients in our community
who only speak Spanish. Viviendo con Cancer was formed to give these patients a
lifeline during their cancer journey. Group members will have the
opportunity to talk with other Spanish-speaking survivors about their cancer experience.
If you know someone who may be interested in this new support group, please pass along the Spanish version of the Viviendo con Cancer flyer. Click the buttons below to view the English and Spanish version of the flyer.
Viviendo con Cancer will meet the third Monday
of every month from 5:30-7 p.m. at Hope Cancer Resources. For more information,
please contact Group Facilitator Tania Martinez, LSW at 479-361-5847. We look
forward to seeing you on September 18.
