December News

Our Blood Cancers Group is for adult patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS or other blood cancers. The purpose of the group is to provide support and education to people in the community who have been touched by a blood cancer.

Blood Cancers Group 2017 Grateful Caregiver QuoteThe Blood Cancers Group focuses largely on education and peer support. Diet, nutrition and self-care are a few of the major topics that are regularly discussed.

“Patients and caregivers who attend are enthusiastic about helping educate each other by sharing their own experiences and any advice they feel may benefit another patient. It's positive to see patients sharing a new healthy recipe or about a fitness class they attend at a wellness center,” Julie Kientz, LSW, Hope Cancer Resources Social Worker.

Our upcoming Blood Cancers Group will meet Tuesday, December 12 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Hope Cancer Resources. If you or someone you know would like to attend our Blood Cancers Group meetings, please contact Julie Kientz, LSW at 479-361-5847. RSVPs are appreciated.
