April News
Did you know that skin cancer affects one in five
Americans? Fortunately, skin cancer has a better than 99 percent cure rate
if detected and treated early. If it has been a while since you’ve had a
skin exam or if you have any areas of concern, call us today at 479-361-5847
to schedule an appointment for our annual Free Skin Cancer Screening Clinic on
April 17.
“Eighty percent of skin damage happens before the
age of 18, so it is imperative that we start checking our skin early and
regularly to find any premature signs of skin cancer,” said Abbie Luzius, MS,
CHES, CTTS, Prevention Education Specialist at Hope Cancer
Resources. “The earlier we find something suspicious, the better the
outcome for the individual.”
Our Free Skin Cancer Screening Clinic is part of our Save-A-Life
Cancer Screening Program. “We offer this free screening every year because of
the importance of early detection and because cost should never be a factor
that prohibits people from getting screened,” Abbie said. “We also offer
financial assistance for any necessary follow-ups for individuals who qualify.”
The SPOTme® Skin Cancer Screening is open to individuals
of all ages (uninsured, underinsured or insured) who would like to have their
skin checked by a medical professional. Contact Abbie at 479-361-5847 to
schedule an appointment. You must make an appointment to be seen.
