Many patients starting chemotherapy are told a list of side effects they may encounter throughout their treatment. Unfortunately, one side effect that is very real but often overlooked or unmentioned is “chemo brain.”

Chemo brain refers to cognitive dysfunction resulting from chemotherapy. Typical symptoms include forgetfulness, a feeling of being in a fog, concentration problems, confusion, fatigue and more. Although just one of these symptoms can be difficult to manage, there are certain methods that can make dealing with chemo brain a little easier. Chemo Brain Quote

  1. Keep a notepad and pen with you at all times.
Jot down anything and everything you think you’ll want to remember at some point. Review your notes at the end of each day.

  2. Use your phone.
The vast majority of today’s cell phones include calendars, reminder lists and alarms that can make it easy to be alerted of meetings, tasks, events, etc.
