What comes to mind when you hear the word “survivor?” Do
you think of strength, willpower and an unwavering determination to fight? Do
you think of triumph and the end of a long period of suffering? At Hope Cancer
Resources, we think of your aunt, your kindergarten teacher and the neighbor
who always waves from across the street – the courageous men and women who are
met every day with the reality of cancer.
Cancer survivors are people who currently have or used to
have cancer; from point of diagnosis and beyond. There are currently more than
15 million cancer survivors in the United States, and by 2026, that number is
expected to grow to more than 20 million (National Cancer Institute). June is
recognized as National Cancer Survivor Month every year in honor of those who
are living with cancer.
Hope Cancer Resources understands that every survivor’s
wants and needs are unique. We offer a wide variety of services for survivors
and their co-survivors including patient support, cancer education,
survivorship and wellness programs.
Life with and beyond cancer can be tough. Hope Cancer
Resources is here to provide support for the journey and education for life, no
matter where you are in your cancer journey.
“Don’t get hung up on the hard times, the challenges.
Tell your story by highlighting the victories. Because it’s your victories that
will inspire, motivate, encourage other people to live their stories in grander
ways.” – Iyanla Vanzant
