We are pleased to introduce our 2018 Gentleman of Distinction, Chris Weiser.
In 1996, Chris Weiser joined the board of Northwest
Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute. Through the years, he has provided
leadership to our organization through several transitions to help provide
better quality cancer support services to families in Northwest Arkansas. Chris
was the board chairman for NARTI in 2009 when the decision was made to merge
the patient support and community outreach services of HOPE, Inc. and NARTI to
become Hope Cancer Resources. By bringing these two organizations together, the
boards of directors created an entirely new organization to provide cancer
support and education to the communities in Northwest Arkansas. Currently,
Chris is Chairman of Board of Directors for the Hope Cancer Resources
Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide financial support for
the programs and services of Hope Cancer Resources and provide sustainability
for today and tomorrow.
Chris is a native of Northwest Arkansas. He and his wife,
Debby, graduated from the University of Arkansas. Chris is the owner and Chief
Executive Officer of J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. based in Springdale. J.V.
Manufacturing is a family-owned business that produces Cram-A-Lot® Solid Waste
and Recycling Equipment. He currently serves on the Springdale Water and Sewer
Commission, the board of directors for the Beaver Water District, and is a
member of the Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authority. Chris serves on the
National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing and Extension
Partnership Advisory Board. He is the first Arkansan to be appointed to the
Advisory Board.
Chris has a passion for families living through their
cancer journey. In 2004, he lost his mother, Janet Perry, to breast cancer and
understands how cancer impacts a patient and their loved ones. His mother was
treated by Dr. Thad Beck and Dr. Hershey Garner here in Northwest Arkansas.
Chris has served 17 years as a board member to NARTI, Hope Cancer Resources
and/or the Foundation. He has provided leadership, great advice, advocacy and
given sacrificially to ensure families in Northwest Arkansas have the support
they need.
We are proud to present the 2018 Bill Fleeman Gentleman
of Distinction Award to Chris Weiser.
