Cancer and its treatment can cause physical, mental and emotional despair. Many survivors are discovering how yoga positively impacts overall health and can even offer some relief from cancer-related symptoms.

Relaxed_opt.jpg“Some people with cancer say it [yoga] helps calm their mind so that they can cope better with their cancer and its treatment. Others say it helps to reduce symptoms and side effects such as pain, tiredness, sleep problems and depression” (Cancer Research UK).

We offer free yoga classes for survivors and caregivers through our Wellness Center for Hope at Hope Cancer Resources.

Yoga brings a sense of peace and relaxation to our survivors,” said Hannah Waggener, CPT, Wellness Specialist. “Many people join our yoga class to de-stress, improve balance, or restore strength & flexibility. Our class is a gentle yoga practice so we welcome all skill levels.”
