Emotional Support Article Banner_opt 1.jpg

Cancer and its treatments don’t only affect patients physically. Many survivors are met with a storm of emotions at some point during and/or after treatment. Our social workers are here to help survivors work through these emotions with the goal of making their cancer journey as positive as possible.

Explaining to Group.jpgOur ten licensed social workers provide compassionate, professional support to cancer survivors, their caregivers and family members free of charge. The first time a patient has an appointment at Highlands Oncology Group or Landmark Cancer Center, one of our social workers is there to meet them to discuss any services we may be able to offer.

“Hope Cancer Resources gives hope to people like me. When everything else is so terrifying, it is so relieving to know that organizations like this exist. I am eternally grateful for everything Hope Cancer Resources provided. Thank you!”
-Grateful Patient

We offer counseling and many support groups in order to help patients and their loved ones better navigate the emotional side of cancer. Our social workers meet with current patients, survivors, friends and family as a small group, a couple or individually. We also offer nine support groups to provide patients with an opportunity to connect with others who understand what they’re going through. Click here to learn more about our support groups.

If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the emotional support services we offer, please contact Miki Biggers, LCSW, OSW-C, Director of Social Work Services at miki.biggers@hopecancerresources.org or 479-361-5847.
